Art On the Range
What a great show; what a success.
Thanks to Brad Hammond (Director, Orange Regional Art Gallery) for opening the Art On the Range at the Crookwell District Art Gallery. He not only opened the show; he opened our eyes with his enthusiasm for all things art. It was also a great idea to discuss in detail the three Highly Commended pieces and then Best in Show.
Best in Show: "Lotus" Margot Luntungan
People’s Choice: "Waterfall" Allan Baptist
Highly Commended: Kirsten Jeffcoat
Highly Commended: Lorenna Coren
Highly Commended: Christine Crimmins
We were lucky to have Ms Colleen Worthy, General Manager ULSC; Ms Rose Marin, Executive Director and Ms Susan Brindle, Director of Southern Tablelands Arts.
There were over 70 people who attended Opening Night which was a great success and of the 101 artworks for sale, 20% were sold.
Some words from an art purchaser on opening night are as follows: “Thank you for a great show; Brad Hammond was a brilliant choice to open it, a great communicator and such encouraging words to both artists and attendees. We are looking forward to visiting his gallery early in the new year.”
